Special Offer for Merchants

I sent off this notecard to the merchants renting in the fort… feel free to spread the word..

First of all, I am glad you have decided to sell here. Thanks for setting up your shop in this sim.

The entry area is an old west trading post where some players will also be roleplaying. The terms of the rental agreement state that merchants should make their vendors match the look of the old west theme. If you were a merchant wanting to sell your wares in an old fort trading post circa 1870′s, how would your setup look? I designed mine to look like crates, others have placed additional decor. You could even set up a table with items on it that act as a vendor.

If you received this notice, it means your vendor spot has one or more elements that are jarring to the look of the area. I’d like to work with you to make your space more realistic looking in order to continue selling here.

I know I’m asking a lot from you. So I’m offering you a special deal…

—————————————
SPECIAL DEAL FOR ALL MERCHANTS:
If you make your vendor setup fit the theme AND make it unique and creative, you will get your spot for free for as long as stay here.
—————————————

I will be available to help you out with signage, vendors and such. Drop me a note at any time. I will work with you to turn your space into a compelling and attractive shop that fits the setting.

Deadwood 1876 sim will have the best look, the best roleplay and the best merchant area in all of Second Life and I would like it for all of you to be a part of it.

In the Days to Come for Deadwood

4:47 am in Sim Updates by Caed Aldwych

Well it was a quick and hectic journey this new Deadwood build *yawns*  I believe I did not give myself quite enough time to accomplish everything I had planned out to do.  What have we gained and what have we missed and what will you expect to see just around the corner?  Mostly I just wanted to get the sim open again with as little downtime as possible as I know folks were itchin to see and roleplay in the new build.  Luckily, I had most of the build completed before we broke ground and what is left to do is mostly cosmetic.  You all have probably noticed the lack of completion of the fort platform and the wilderness mountain pass area.  Also missing is the panning setup I promised, it’s still coming just so you know and it will be soon…  Here is a list of projects to be completed:

  • Panning for gold
  • Closing gaps in the mountain ranges
  • Adding more shelters in the hills
  • Adding remaining rental signs on all the builds
  • Setting up a grid map for claims issuance
  • Setting up the teleport system for the mountain pass
  • Finishing up the Fort platform

In the days and months ahead, changes will take place in sim as Deadwood moves rapidly from frontier settlement to full fledged town…  Some of the log structures will slowly turn into plank and beam buildings.  Three new buildings will begin to spring from the ground as folks witness their construction from the ground up.  The General Custer House Hotel, the Grand Central Hotel and the Del Monico Hotel and Restaurant.  A couple more smaller hotels will appear in the coming weeks as well.  The mine is set up off behind the Pioneer Office building. It’s ready to use, but folks will also see a ground breaking soon as some silly miner may find gold in the next few days. Keep your eyes open. It might be you…
